Clean with white vinegar and baking soda

This uses the power of PH. The white vinegar lowers, or neutralizes the ammonia in the urine and makes it easier to remove, whether on carpet or laminate. The acid also helps to breakdown any bacteria that are lurking. The baking soda neutralizes the uric acid.

To use this method, mix equal amounts of water and vinegar, and saturate the area. Then, use half the amount of baking soda and pour over the top. You should see and hear a fizzing. Leave to dry and remove.

Create a vodka-based solution

Vodka has anti-bacterial properties, so kills bacteria and fungus as well as removing oil-based stains.

It’s simple: add cheap vodka to a spray bottler. You can dilute it with water as much as 50:50 if you want to make the solution last longer. Spry on the spot and leave to dry. You can add baking soda if you want before it dries.

Be aware that this method can damage the finish on wooden floors, so better used for tiles or carpet.
