Eco Offers, Tree Planting and Habitat Restoration
They say a change is as good as a rest which is why we have decided to reconsider a little of what we do.
Back in December we changed our offer of planting one tree for every order, for two reasons. One is simply cost, Ecologi put the price of tree planting up by a huge 150%. As we could not afford this and we didn’t want to increase prices on our products to subsidise tree planting, we had to sit down and look at what we have achieved and what we want to achieve.
Secondly, as an ethically trading business it’s important for us to be the best we can. While tree planting is important, its benefits take years to have an effect. So, alongside our commitment to tree planting, we’re allocating a portion of sales to support other projects, such as the restoration of UK Wildflowers, Wetlands, and Wildlife. Which is very dear to my heart and I’m super excited to be part of this!
Going for Gold
One of the main ways we actually reduce our business environmental impact is to actively reduce single use plastic in our business. We also recycle everything we possibly can and use recycled stationery and packaging products. As an eco shop it’s quite easy for us to use plastic free cleaning products as they are core products for our business. To help us set goals and be more accountable we enrolled with surfers against sewage and so far, we have achieved silver and we hope to push for gold!
