Eco Friendly Products for your Cleaning Routine

Are you trying to cut down on your carbon footprint by using eco-friendly cleaning products in your home cleaning routine? By going green with your cleaning routine it doesn’t mean you have to compromise on cleanliness or convenience. In fact, there are many eco-friendly cleaning options that will save you money, time, and energy while still keeping your home clean and fresh.
Eco friendly cleaning products are becoming increasingly popular because they’re better for our environment. They use less water, produce fewer toxic fumes, and are often made from natural ingredients.

Choose Green Cleaning Products.

There are many different kinds of green cleaning products out there, so it’s important to choose wisely. Look for products with low levels of toxins, such as phthalates, formaldehyde, and triclosan. Also consider whether the product contains ingredients that can cause allergies or skin irritations.
It’s easy to use natural cleaners that won’t harm your family’s health, but as there are so many options available. We thought we’d compile some of our top tips to keep in mind while shopping for these items.

Bicarbonate of Soda – This natural product is great for getting rid of odours and stains.

Bicarbonate of soda is an old tried and tested method for cleaning the home. It’s naturally deodorizing and can help reduce household smells. It also works as a degreaser and as a stain remover.
To use as a stain remover mix one tablespoon of bicarb with enough water to make a thick paste. Place this over the stain for 15 minutes and then rinse. Always test patch first as some materials are not suitable such as marble and aluminium.

Vinegar – A good vinegar cleaner will get rid of tough spots like grease or grime.

Do you need a natural cleaner to cut through grease and grime, try using white vinegar to clean your home. It works well on grease, dirt, and even mildew. Just mix equal parts vinegar and water, then spray onto the area and wipe away. You can use this to clean bathrooms, your kitchen and even windows!

How to clean your home naturally

Are you looking for an alternative to harsh chemicals, try using essential oils instead. Essential oils are concentrated extracts that come from plants. Many of them have antibacterial properties and you can use them to help reduce odors and freshen up your home. This makes essential oils a great option for an eco-friendly cleaning routine.
To make your own DIY cleaner, mix 60ml white vinegar and 400ml water together. Add up to 30 drops of essential oils and stir well. Essential oils we love to use are lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, peppermint or pine. Obviously don’t use all of them together choose the scent you prefer and go from there.
Spray onto surfaces and wipe away with a damp cloth.
