You will need:

250g of Magnesium Flakes
6 to 8 drops of lavender essential oil
In aromatherapy lavender oil is often used to combat depression, stress, and fatigue.

Peppermint (Hangover) Magnesium Salts Detox

You will need:

250g of Magnesium Flakes
6 to 8 drops of peppermint essential oil

In aromatherapy peppermint oil is supposed to be excellent for mental fatigue and depression. It has a wonderful fresh scent that can help balance you and decrease feelings of nausea and headaches.

Patchouli (Cellulite) Magnesium Salts Detox

You will need:

250g of Magnesium Flakes
6 to 8 drops of Patchouli essential oil

Used in bathwater, it is believed to help skin and scalp complaints, fungal infections, fluid retention, and break down cellulite. In fact, it is much valued in skincare, especially in scar healing, and has a balancing effect on the emotions

Lemon (Bone and Joint) Magnesium Salts Detox

You will need:

250g of Magnesium Flakes
6 to 8 drops of lemon essential oil

Lemon is believed to help with rheumatism, arthritis, and gout; it has been used to cure skin troubles like abscesses, boils,  and acne. It boosts the immune system and cleanses the body.

How to make:

In a large metal or glass bowl, mix the magnesium flakes and essential oils of your choosing & combine well. Dissolve the full amount in bath water and soak for at least 20mins. You can make larger batches and store the surplus in a glass air-tight container.

You can also make a foot detox soak with the same recipes, just reduce the quantities to:-

  • 150g Magnesium Flakes
  • 4-6 drops of essential oils
  • Relax and soak your feet for 20 minutes.

Magnesium flakes can also be used as a homemade body scrub by mixing a handful of magnesium flakes with a tablespoon of oil i.e. fractionated coconut oil/Argon Oil. Mix together then rub all over wet skin to gently exfoliate and soften skin.
