Snooty Catz Ethical Journey 2021

2021 has been a rocky road for many and we thought we would take the time to share some of the positive ways Snooty Catz has continued to evolve on our ethical journey. We feel this year has been a positive year for the planet with the focus of COP26 on our doorstep. More people are beginning to look for ways they can make small changes to reduce their carbon footprint. Which is just amazing! As a business, it’s just as important to reduce our carbon footprint too. We are continually looking at what we do and make changes where we can.

Snooty Catz Ethical Journey 2021

This year we declared a Nature emergency with Wild Sheffield to help bring awareness to the plight of nature in Sheffield. Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust is a registered charity that works with the local community to make a better future for wildlife, people, and the green spaces in our area.

As you know we are passionate about trees and we have now planted over 10,000 trees in our Snooty Catz forest with Ecologi. So far our trees have been planted in Madagascar, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Kenya, and the UK! On top of this many of our suppliers plant trees for the products we supply. Some of our suppliers also support charities that provide meals, schools, and financial support to families suffering in third-world countries. We love that the products we sell have a good social impact on the makers of these fabulous products.

Charities in the UK

2021 has seen another struggle for many charities trying to survive. At Snooty Catz we always try to support charities as much as possible. Sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, but we will continue to support charities where we can.

Most of the charities are on Facebook and have created online auctions to help raise funds. This is a great way you can help them whilst often acquiring a bargain in the process!

Some of the charities we have supported this year are:

UK German shepherd Rescue – are a registered Charity and continually rehome German Shepherds throughout the year. Many dogs which come to them are from homes where owners can no longer look after them. Some dogs come to them as an emergency rehome, ie as a stray or from owners who have been evicted from their homes or for medical reasons.

Birch Hill Dog Rescue – First set up back in 1996, Birch Hill Dog Rescue has always offered unwanted, abandoned, and neglected dogs the very best of care.

Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher rescue and rehome greyhounds and lurchers all around the country.

International Aid For The Protection And Welfare Of Animals is a UK registered charity dedicated to creating a better future for animals in need.

A new leash for Life Rescue – is a foster-based rescue, helping unwanted dogs in Europe to find better lives.

Give A Gift Southampton 2021 – A registered CIC of local people who all have a personal connection to Southampton General Hospital Children’s wards.

We supplied soaps for survival kits for London Marathon runners running for Type 1 diabetes through – JDRF charity organisation.

National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (UCLH) – They do an amazing job caring for neurology (medical) patients, as well as those who suffer from cerebro-vascular accidents (stroke), and spinal ailments.

Fox Burrow Grange Nursing Home is a charity based in Colchester caring for elderly residents.

It’s always humbling to hear from charities that are working hard to support those less fortunate than ourselves. They truly are amazing and make a massive difference to so many people and animals’ lives.
